Share Your World - Charlotte Burley

Alrighty. Another "Share Your World"! This one takes us to California! So, on Twitter, I have more of a connection to some than to others. One such connection...wait, is connection the right word? Affiliation? No. Community? Yeah, I like that word better. So, there are some on Twitter I feel more of a community with (yeah, community works).

One such person is Charlotte Burley. We've been following each other ever since I joined Twitter. She's one of the first people to buy one of my books when I had them on Amazon. Her influencer videos (YouTube, TikTok) break down topics in that "real talk...tell it like it is" style most can relate to. And even as I'm putting this blog together I'm sipping on a mocha out of a mug I purchased on her online store.

Yeah, community.

Okay, what say we get down to the meat and potatoes?

KD: So this is a lead in I've lead off with in previous interviews. Give us an overall picture of what makes Charlotte, Charlotte.

Charlotte Burley: I am a very curious person who is addicted to life in every sense of the word with a healthy imagination that I am grateful for. A creative sexy nerd!

KD: Yeah, that definitely paints a picture. Cool. So, what do you do for relaxation?

Charlotte Burley: Take long scenic walks with music blasting in my ears, especially Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata on repeat.

KD: Oh! Then when you get a chance, check out the Moonlight Sonata version by E.S. Posthumus (yes, that's how it's spelled). Their version hits different! Okay, let's give a shout-out to your corner of the world by telling me the best thing about your neck of the woods.

Charlotte Burley: Shout out to California for the beautiful weather all year round, even when it rains.

KD: But wait, didn't Tony! Toni! Toné! say it never rains in Southern...nevermind. One sentence parenting advice. Go for it.

Charlotte Burley: When your child asks questions, take the time to answer and if you don't know the answer, research until you find one!

KD: I think I make it through three rounds of questions before I pull the "because I said so" card. So, what inspired you to be a social media influencer?

Charlotte Burley: Hindsight can be a bitch, but hindsight can also be a blessing when someone decides to share their mistakes with you in hopes to help your foresight. I had to learn a lot of things in life the hard way. My goal is to make it easier for someone else...because I should.

KD: Music and movies...sum it up for me.

Charlotte Burley: Hip Hop and Sci-Fi. Period! LOL

KD: YES! Coffee, tea, or...?

Charlotte Burley: Coffee, but I quit it (again)...lol.

KD: NO! I...better move on...next question. Of all your influencer videos done so far, which one would you say affected you the most?

Charlotte Burley: My very first awareness video, "Funky Booty Odor", brings awareness to issues that most people want to ignore or talk badly behind each other's back. That video is still the most popular video in my YouTube journey. I think most of my subscribers have found me from that one video alone.

KD: I mean, just the name of the video...right? So, how would you describe yourself as far as personality and character?

Charlotte Burley: Crazy. Sexy. Cool. No cap!

KD: I kinda felt a TLC vibe coming off that answer. And, how do you think your friends would describe you?

Charlotte Burley: Crazy. Sexy. Cool. Again no cap!

KD: Yeah, lemme go ahead and YouTube some TLC while I'm doing this. And where do you land on the introvert - extrovert scale?

Charlotte Burley: A solid 5!

KD: Let's just assume that's out of "out of 10"! How active are you on social media?

Charlotte Burley: 90% business, 10% personal. Not very active, but I know that must change asap.

KD: What, to you, is the greatest aspect of America?

Charlotte Burley: Pseudo Freedom.

KD: What do you feel is the greatest issue facing America today?

Charlotte Burley: Racist people.

KD: Name something you wish you would have known or learned way earlier than you did?

Charlotte Burley: That women can do whatever the hell they want to!

KD: Sho'nuff! Pet peeve?

Charlotte Burley: People taking my kindness for weakness.

KD: What was your biggest accomplishment of 2021? What's a goal you have for 2022?

Charlotte Burley: I reached 1000 subscribers on YouTube! Master time management in 2022 is my ultimate goal.

KD: And you are now at 1.07K. Congrats! I'm also a proud YouTube follower of yours. Okay, so what's an unpopular opinion you stand by?

Charlotte Burley: Nobody owes you a damn thing.

KD: Agreed. What are things that you wouldn't mind others knowing about you and your world?

Charlotte Burley: I wrote/created Tattoo Man, an image campaign for the Sci Fi Channel. I won pretty much every award in the advertising and promo industry including the illustrious CLIO, beating NIKE! It was the first time a television network was honored and inducted in the MOMA (Museum Of Modern Arts). Also it had Steven Spielberg call into the network telling the President that Tattoo Man will play right before his mini series "Taken" every night for the second week of its airing. I really want to meet him and tell him "Hey, that was me!" lol

KD: You...wait, what? Awesome sauce! If peeps wanted to reach out and connect, what would be a preferred method?

Charlotte Burley: Follow me on Instagram and DM me.

KD: I put your Instagram handle as a link to make it easy for people to get at you. Last item, with each interview I'm providing a chance to get in a plug or two. Any business or project or website you'd like to highlight or promote?

Charlotte Burley: My YouTube Channel - MissCharlotteBurley.

KD: I also put your YouTube channel as a link as well. Thank you for being a part of my "Share Your World" series. I'll see ya around Twitter...and YouTube!

My thanks to Charlotte Burley for sharing her world with me...with us. And, as before, my thanks to you, the reader, for engaging in this series! I honestly can't thank you enough.

I dunno, I guess my thing is this - with so much division in this world, maybe the key to at least some semblance of unity is to try to understand each other. Learn a bit more about each other. Perhaps that starts with sharing just a bit of our world with each other? Maybe, maybe not. But let's at least give it a shot, shall we?

(As TLC's Scrubs "No Scrubs" bumps on YouTube.)
